i remember listening to some NPR broadcast in the 2000s about how elite universities were thriving by charging full boat to foreign students. the report treated it like it was a 100% good thing, never questioning whether selling prestige to foreigners was worth diluting the quality and availability of elite education to american citizens. neolibs are demonic. |

None of them spoke coherent English, one chick was some weird Asian who wore that high contrast makeup with a white face and would say all this crazy mystical Asian stuff that didn’t make any sense, another guy was an extremely rude bald guy with a belly like he had an intestinal parasite who straight up told me he doesn’t care about grades and will contribute nothing to this project, another two were brother and sister and would yell at each other in this weird accident where W’s were V’s or something, really annoying accent. So I ended up getting up in front of of the class with my group for a presentation and made these guys just stand there and gave the whole presentation myself and the professor later scolded them in front of the whole class once she realized what they were doing. ostensibly what you're paying for with an elite education is primarily being surrounded by other brilliant students which also allows the professors instruction to be deeper and more nuanced. if half your class is ESL that's impossible. you can already go online and get top-tier instruction for any material for free.
it's complete fraud and does a disservice to everyone. including the international students. whatever actual value there is to attending school in a different country and for the domestic students to meet people from around the world is eviscerated when half the class is ESL chinks who self-isolate with all the other ESL chinks. it's blatant prestige selling and they might as well just cut harvard a check for $250k for a correspondence degree. |
