De Beers mined 10.2 million carats of diamonds in the first half of 2025, a 23 percent drop from 13.3 million in the prior-year period that reflects the company’s deliberate pullback on mining in light of the decline in demand.
Production fell 26 percent in De Beers’ top-producing country, Botswana, while production was down 43 percent in Canada.

You're retarded and don't know anything about the jewelry business.
They make 10% of their revenue from warranty sales. The other 90% (over $6B annually) comes from new jewelry sale. They are not like Best Buy, which makes 50% of its profit from warranties dumbasses buy. (Margins on ready to wear jewelry are way higher than on consumer electronics, and fewer people buy warranties since they also may have insurance and jewelry can be repaired by indecent shops too (unlike a Vizio tv or Sony receiver).

I could be wrong because i'm not really in true upper class circles, but in UMC circles, diamonds aren't really a status symbol anymore.
Women care about how many carats there engagement rings are.
Other than that, I don't think women now care about another womans diamond earings or whatever. It seems way below handbags, shoes, even athleisure like Lululemon is more of a status symbol than dimaonds.
I don't even see it in movies anymore where the guy wows the girl with a diamond bracelet. Now the guy in a movie would surprise her with 2 first class tickets to Thailand.
