He took from the shelf an unused telephone book which was perhaps 15 years old. Its spine was uncreased. It was covered in dust.

He opened it and found the listing: PSYCHIATRY.

He scanned the page with his finger and with his other hand reached across the table and began dialing the telephone.

'Hello?' a voice said on the line.

'Doctor?'

'Yes?'

'I must see you.'

'What is it?'

'I believe I am now mad.'
