its main advantage is that it has no foreign characters. it's about somalis being poor and having crappy lives in somalia, and it can be way more blunt and honest about the shittiness of somali life due to that fact.
the basic plot is that a single dad working as an itinerant laborer has his sister move back in after a divorce due to her being infertile, and then they both have a lot of financial problems after the local school shuts down due to militants and they have to pay to send the kid to a boarding school in the city.
the sister eventually tries to procure a sham marriage to a guy who owed her money so that she can qualify for a bank loan as a married couple, but it doesn't go so well.
