To win you must secure a contract for your salsa to be available on the shelf in at least a regional grocery chain (needs to be more than just in some shitty "buy local products made here in [city]" type of store). You're allowed to sell your stuff at farmers markets or on your own website and you can offer multiple flavors or perhaps a branded chip to go with it as well to boost the hype. You are responsible for everything though including marketing, sales, and scaling production to meet the needs of whatever contract you can secure.

If you win the hypo you win a million dollars, if you lose you must shut down and owe Frito Lay's a million dollars in a bs patent infringement lawsuit.

No thanks. It's not worth risking the million when all you can win would be a million. If the penalty for losing was much lower, then I'm in.

My wife and I already make good salsa. We could improve on that. From there, try to meet with grocery chains and offer them something others don't offer. E.g., the chain can buy our salsa for 75 cents per jar, or the proceeds all go to a local charity.
