Date: May 25th, 2025 11:00 AM Author: lilac bawdyhouse looking for some advice here. my 24 y/o son is dead set on moving to china to teach english, but here’s the thing — he’s not into teaching at all. he just wants to live in china for a while and sees this as the easiest way in.
he’s got a solid degree and could land a good job here in the US, but hasn’t really tried. he doesn’t speak mandarin, doesn’t have much of a plan, and kind of brushes off any concerns with “i just want to try something different.”
i’m all for travel and gaining life experience, but i worry he’s avoiding real career steps and might end up stuck or coming back with less momentum. anyone else deal with something like this? am i overthinking it? |
