I installed Steam and looked at what AAA games I had purchased and I sorted them according to which one seemed like it had the best mix of graphics and everything. This game is a 2017 action-adventure and first-person shooter game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks, so it's definitely going to hit my GPU harder than LA Noire. I see that LA Noire was patched as recently as February, 2025, but Wolfenstein: New Colossus received an update in April, so I presume it's maintained its lead in system requirements.
To play this game I'll be using a standard Microsoft Xbox controller. Nothing fancy, but it's not Sony or Nintendo. Japan is totally out of the picture here.
The story itself features a white protagonist and all-white villains, and some of the community content includes images of Hitler. That was another reason I chose this game over LA Noire.

Well nyuug, I don't know if I played for a full "hour." I definitely played long enough to get a feel for the controls. The game begins with some cutscenes, then you find yourself in a wheelchair, unable to walk. The only weapon I could find was this machine pistol.

One of the things this game illustrates is the importance of having at least 8 hyperthreaded cores. Intel would have you believe modern games run fine on 4 or even 8 threads, but look at those stats. If I had an 7th gen i3 I'd be fucked.
This game also reveals the importance of have at least 16gb of VRAM. That screenshot was taken early in the game, and I'd already used up 7.1gb. I could run out of VRAM before I even finish the game.
As far as the graphics go, I'm kinda stuck with what I got. I monitor is a shitty OLED that shits out at 175hz, so that's why my frame rates were so low. I thought the blood looked realistic enough, but the detail in my foot could benefit from a better upscaling engine. I might hit up Microcenter tomorrow to see if they have any RX 9070s in stock.

Went back and played this for a while today. I was hoping to stream it and play it remotely over my lan, but that didn't work out so I played on my local PC.
The game gets better after a really long, disturbing scene where a german woman berates her fat daughter while beheading your girlfriend. I'm able to walk now due to some robot suit. Apparently my character is paralyzed IRL like Charles Krauthammer, but when I'm wearing this suit I can run and jump. The violence is good if you like killing people, not monsters or ghosts. I find it more satisfying personally. The game doesn't make you do a lot of searching or anything too boring. I assume there's no crafting but I don't know.
