for a variety of reasons my life is much more stressful than usual. the biggest stressor is my job, but there are others that are significant as well.

that feeling of stress, tension, edginess, etc. is there from the moment i wake up until i go to sleep. some days are better than others, but none are perfect.

what's worrying is that i wake up in the middle of the night still feeling stressed, and i start stress eating. i eat normal, healthy meals most of the time, but when i'm half-awake i have almost no self-control and eat anything that seems tasty.

last night i woke up twice. the first time i ate a bunch of blueberries and raspberries. the second time i made two turkey sandwiches. i woke up feeling sick with an intense headache from all the extra food.

last night was probably the most extreme case ever. most of the time i eat only once, and it's less food than what i just described.

my "workaround" is to not keep any mildly appetizing food in the house. so tonight, i'm going to throw out all the raspberries, blueberries, turkey breast, and bread. if i can't find anything tasty, i go back to bed hungry and unhappy, but eventually i go back to sleep.

clearly i need a better solution.

here's what i've tried:

1. daily exercise. makes me fall asleep more easily, but doesn't stop the eating.

2. meditation. i can't do this shit for more than 15 minutes. my mind is too scattered to meditate.

3. eating my last meal of the day later at night so i don't feel as hungry.

4. spending time in nature whenever i can.

there's other shit. nothing works. what can i do? pls help

other than that the only other solution is to address your stressors

the problem is i jolt awake in stressed-out mode. but i can't think clearly or control my cravings because i just woke up. so i rush to the kitchen and hunt for food. if i don't find anything tasty, i feel horrible, then go back to bed with that horrible feeling, and fall back asleep.

i'm taking clonazepam daily.

have seen two therapists about it, but neither were helpful. therapy sessions just felt like more stress.

maybe i'm just bad at managing stress. or maybe life is just terrible sometimes.

you should not be taking clonazepam or any benzo daily unless you have some sort of severe anxiety disorder that can't be managed any other way

Late night sugar cravings is a sign of tapeworm or gut parasite

Alternatively you are just massively sleep deprived and your dopamine / serotonin triggers are fucked up at night as a result
