legislation and policy enacted by the trump admin can and should only be coherently evaluated in the context of "conservatives" maintaining power of fedgov. people are conditioned into making the general argument that you've made above (because it made sense in the past, when this country wasn't in a state of civil war) and haven't sat down and thought about the current state of the world and adjusted their priors accordingly |
