Date: September 5th, 2025 2:33 PM Author: 8======================================D ((zurich is stained)) i have been a partner since 2018. i have had years where i bill just over 2000, and i am often at 1900 or so. i need to schedule shitloads of calls and meetings. i'm a traditional labor lawyer, so when i have collective bargaining going on, it's easy. same when i have arbitrations or NLRB trials coming up. associates do lots of the grunt work but i spend shitloads of time on that stuff too.
but there is also padding, to be honest. i wouldn't believe any partner telling me he bills 2100 a year or whatever who also said he didn't pad.
guy who hired me in biglaw was a massive rainmaker and billed liek 2300 a year. i had clients tell me to stop copying him on emails because he was putting random 0.6 entries all over their bills. dude hasn't practiced in forever but bills his ass off. |

i was at the beach with my family last friday - this tuesday. time had to be in by 4 pm tuesday. i arrived at the beach friday evening with no time input for august, riddled with anxiety. |
