That’s not the ending I’m talking about. In the original script, humans sent robots to a habitable planet orbiting a black hole a few years earlier to prepare it for humanity’s arrival. At the end of the movie, when the first humans arrive, because of time dilation due to the planet’s close proximity to the black and it’s rapid orbit, it turns out that 5,000 years had passed on the planet and in that time the robots had built huge mega cities and infrastructure for humans to live in.
