Date: September 29th, 2021 1:00 PM Author: aggressive umber piazza One of our cashiers, Marisol, invited me to this. For those who don't know Mexicans do a big bash when their daughter turns 15. Marisol herself is only 26 so this was a surprise. I had no idea what it was and thought it was basically a birthday party.
They rented out an Elks Lodge in Tacoma and the parking lot was full of low riders and ugly cars with cheap purple tinted windows. Most vehicles had huge stickers in the rear windshield with Mexican last names in old english font like "Hernandez" or "Ramirez".
Walking inside a 5'4 man handed me a corona & slurred some words in spanish. Even if I could speak the language I couldn't hear him over the noise of the Mariachi band. I took a few sips of the disgusting beer and looked around. Everyone was short, greasy, and obese. Each family had 4-5 kids. I saw 9 year olds taking tequila shots.
After what felt like hours the girl whose "fiesta" it was came out for her dance number. She and her 15 year old friends all danced to "wet ass pussy" and then went in the audience and grinded on their "tios", whatever that means. The girls mom & the rest of her family were cheering & clapping as these men sexualized their young daughters. A few of the 15 year olds were visibly pregnant.
I walked around the rest of the lodge after finishing some barbacoa tacos. In one room of the lodge there was a cockfight with people smoking and gambling as the chickens killed each other. I decided it was time for me to leave. I thanked the host and she said I'm invited back for her other 4 daughter's parties. In the parking lot there were people in their low rider trucks doing that bouncing thing with the wheels and shocks or whatever as their music blared. In my short time there I saw 3 people stabbed.
I was quite shaken the entire drive home. Once I got back to my neighborhood I saw a childless mid 30s white couple pushing their dog in a stroller. It was good to be back home safe. |
