the cons have the right position on this, but i think this is going to wind up being a chaotic disaster. practically speaking, these phd dorks are the experts to whom (in many cases) we should probably defer, although i think the solution for that is going to be to gut federal agencies and minimize the power they have.

also, that headline is misleading, i think. i don't think jackson was saying the president should have NO power to fire agency heads, just that the "for cause" removal protections should be upheld.

the answer to the question she poses, though, is obviously that if the president is putting people in positions who know nothing, that's the senate's job to prevent that (which they clearly haven't done if you look at trump's nominees but that's a different issue altogether).
