The culture here isn't much different from a gang. Guys gather to inflate their egos, put on a show, and convince themselves they're above everyone else.

When one of them gets taken down—whether killed, exposed, or ruined—they put on a display of mourning. But the cycle never stops. Another gets dragged off to prison, humiliated, or broken, and still the rest keep playing the same game.

They'll never walk away, because their whole sense of importance is bound up in belonging to this little crew.

And that's the irony. What they think gives them power is exactly what keeps destroying them.
