i guess that Metcalf had been telling Anthony to leave and eventually shoved Anthony.
i realize that a mild shove does not justify deadly force and i suppose the jury will not find that to be justification either.

i am far from an expert but it looks like Texas has Capital Murder, Murder, Manslaughter (Voluntary and Involuntary), and Criminally Negligent Homicide.
as far as i can tell, Anthony's behavior is near the dividing line between Murder and Voluntary Manslaughter.
the internet seems to think that while Texas does not have a mitigation of imperfect self-defense, it does let the defendant argue "sudden passion" in the penalty phase.

about that all white jury ...
supposedly more than one black potential juror said pretty straight forward they could not see themselves convicting a black kid. and the other blacks were peremptoried for being teachers. so that will be the best appellate issue, it seems.
