One day during lunch in 9th grade, we walked to Taco Bell (our school had an open campus for lunch). Our route there took us past a Catholic K-8 school. They apparently made everybody take a recess, even the middle school girls who mostly just milled around with each other in their skirts.
As we were walking past, one of these girls says in a really singsong voice "Hey <my first name>". I had no clue who this was. Like a proper autist, I ignored her. In retrospect that was dumb on my part, it's not like *I* would have gotten in trouble for stopping to chat.
So if I traveled back to 9th grade, I'd want to figure out the mystery of the middle school girl that catcalled me.
