it has that ultra specific mid 1980s 'dark grain' look. they shot movies 'dark' for like a 3 year period, then stopped.

if you look at the brightness levels of the 3 Vacation movies. the first and 3rd are brightly lit, but the middle one (1985) has that same 'darkness.'
