Can't believe it's the end of summer already.
There's nothing that really jumps out at me on the new foods list. Usually there is something that stands out

I don't think I'll get those. They are at Lulu's which had massive lines last year for the Deep Fried Ranch Dressing. I wanted to try that last year but I didn't want to wait forever in line. If I go to Lulu's I'm just going to try the Ranch.
Every year they come out with this new food list which has dozens of crazy new concoctions and ethnic shit. And then there's all kinds of holdover items from other years, so in aggregate there are hundreds of items at the fair that are odd in some way.
But when you're actually at the fair wandering around, all you see is bog standard fair food. Pizza, burgers, cotton candy, corn dogs/Pronto Pups, etc. All the wild and ethnic shit is somehow hidden. It's remarkable. You need to actively seek it out.

Rachel Platten, the chick that did that "Fight Song" song is playing a free stage on a day I'm thinking of going
That song feels sort of newish to me yet, but it's been out for 10 years now

I usually don't spend too much money on food there. It's all so overpriced. I'll get like one or two new items and some discounted stuff with coupons from the Blue Ribbon Book (Sara's Tipsy Pies, walleye cakes from Giggles). Get like one drink.
I'll carry in water and a lot of snacks. I'll often grab fast food on the way home. When I was a drinker I would often add a bunch of vodka into my water bottle.
This year I'll be on the lookout for some NA beer.
