“To determine the percentile of an IQ score of 92 in the Gaza Strip, we need to consider the IQ distribution specific to that region. IQ percentiles are calculated based on a population’s mean IQ and standard deviation, assuming a normal distribution. A 2012-13 study using the Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) in the Gaza Strip found a mean IQ of 67.9 with a standard deviation of 15 for a sample of 3,495 children aged 8 to 18.[](https://mankindquarterly.org/archive/issue/56-1/7)

Using this mean (67.9) and standard deviation (15), we can calculate the percentile for an IQ of 92. The z-score is computed as follows:

\[

z = \frac{\text{IQ} - \text{Mean}}{\text{Standard Deviation}} = \frac{92 - 67.9}{15} = \frac{24.1}{15} \approx 1.6067

\]

In a standard normal distribution, a z-score of approximately 1.61 corresponds to a percentile of about 94.6%. This means an IQ of 92 in the Gaza Strip would place an individual in approximately the 94th percentile, indicating that they score higher than about 94% of the population in that region.

However, this estimate relies on the 2012-13 study, which may not reflect current conditions or the broader population, as it focused on children and was conducted under specific socio-economic challenges. Factors like education access, nutrition, and ongoing conflict could influence IQ distributions, and more recent or comprehensive data is lacking. If you need a more precise or updated analysis, additional data would be required.[](https://mankindquarterly.org/archive/issue/56-1/7)[](https://royalhaveli.ca/post/average-iq-in-gaza)

I thought it was ~84 or something. Because they had determined sub-84 can't even understand basic instructions and do menial tasks.

with waivers and during the worst times, maybe. but not usually

and GED guys have to not only get waivers but they need to score 100 (I guess substituting the added intelligence for lack of stability/discipline to get an actual diploma)
