Date: February 6th, 2026 8:33 AM Author: Silver chad i fly constantly for work. it's my preferred airline. sw is no frills but they get you where you're going with few delays due to mechanical problems and god knows what plagues airlines like american.
unless you're flying to europe or whatever and flying first class, all planes are the same. they suck. sw is different from frontier in that its targeted passengers are middle management worker drones and an assortment of poors. i've seen people getting on frontier flights and it looks like they got bussed in from a trailer park. you don't generally see that on sw flights. not as bad, at least.
they just went to assigned seating, which i don't really like but i've been on three of those flights so far, and it isn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. |

Date: February 6th, 2026 8:38 AM Author: Silver chad the main difference for me is that my other option is generally american, and yeah they cost about the same but i have a 200% higher chance of something going wrong with the plane or some scheduling fuckup the airline made and the flight being delayed 2-3 hours or cancelled. it's happened to me shitloads of times with american and almost never with sw.
if you're on a domestic flight, with the exception of maybe east to west coast (and obviously hawaii), what does it matter how prole the plane is or whatever? they're all cramped and ttt. go with the airline with the best track record of getting flights in on time. |

oh, another thing i like about sw: i do a lot of flights to providence, boston, hartford, etc. if you fly american, you're usually on a puddle jumper where you have to gate check your bag. very ttt. fine if i'm doing a day trip where i fly to providence at 6 am and come home on a 6 pm flight, but not if i have a suitcase.
sw only has one plane, and it has cabin space. |

Date: February 6th, 2026 9:20 AM Author: Silver chad when i flew to LA to party with my partner, the client rep and that stripper i later ended up "dating," i would almost always fly 1st class. i was in a BAD way on the way home, so i needed a way to recline because i can't sleep otherwise.
this one trip in 2018, i was on sw on the way home. i forget why, but bad idea. it gets to be about 3-4 am the day i'm leaving, and the flight leaves around 7 am. it's me, client rep and stripper. partner never did coke, he was a weed guy, so he was asleep in the other room.
i decided to do one more line for the road. i rip it, and the stripper goes "dude. you just snorted the pile." i said i did what now? i look at the plate and it's empty except for a moderate-size line. then i panicked. i snorted the rest of the drugs they were going to do for the day - not a ton because we'd been at it a while, but it HAD to be at least 3/4 a gram and this shit was really strong.
stripper had to console me and calm me down. i thought i was going to die. my uber arrives like 20 mins after this happens. i go to the airport and am so fucked up i leave my bag at security and have to go back for it. amazingly it's sitting there and nobody said anything. i then stood at the pylon like i was about to board, but it was like an hour before boarding, and i was holding my suitcase like an accordion. i called my wife for reasons i don't know, and she wouldn't answer.
anyway, that flight was absolutely miserable. i sat with my head on the back of the seat in front of me the whole way. i did eventually nod off for about an hour. |
