When Napster first came out hardly anyone knew about it for the first few months, at least. But somehow I got wind of it early on and of course I was blown away. So I poasted something on USENET like "has anyone else use this? I don't see how record labels can survive this" and I got reported to my school for "advertising." I had to write an email to the admins saying "no really, it's a piece of software I downloaded. I'm just a regular student at this school, not selling anything." Fortunately they were understanding and unblocked my account
