I've been battling a nasty hook/pull all year
Finally realized my hands were too far forward with anything longer than 9i
Neutralized my hand placement at setup, even closing the club face a little. It looked and felt weird at first but everything went straight (pulled slightly left with a few degrees of fade)
My instructor probably couldn't figure this out because his view is always behind the swing
Then at the end I added the Harvey Penick forward press motion into my take back; but extremely subtle (see Ludvig Aberg for example)
Somehow this added like 10-15 yards of carry while keeping the same baby fade and trajectory (probably from optimizing tempo and easier to hinge trail wrist)
TL;DR: I sucked at hitting irons for like 3 months and neutralizing my hand/ball placement fixed everything
