Message They forget who they are. Or they are ashamed. The games that built them came from Japan. The Legend of Dragoon. Wild Arms. Parappa the Rapper. Ape Escape. Ico. Shadow of the Colossus. Gravity Rush. Demon’s Souls. Bloodborne. These were exquisite things. Strange. Crafted like ivory. They had soul. You could feel a man behind them. A mind. A mood.

But look now. Look hard. Concord. Marathon. Fairgame$. The names sound like crypto scams. Loud. Empty. Made by men who wear sandals and say “content pipeline.” No mystery in them. No honor. For that matter, Horizon, God of War, The Last of Us 2. Not my thing. They aren't living up to their potential. But I digress.

Remember Coolboarders? Remember Syphon Filter? 989 Studios? Sly Cooper? All gone. Buried in bad fonts and C-tier cutscenes. They were Western. Sony tried then, too. It worked OK. These games are forgotten basically but they were OK. But just OK.

Astro Bot came. A small game. But it sang. Like a sparrow in a concrete pipe. Made by Japan Studio survivors. It was love. People noticed. But Sony did not. They want Netflix now. They want “transmedia.” They never learn.

They want to conquer the West. They will lose everything. Not all at once. But bit by bit.
