When I was in school, tribes were clear.

Talking to my daughter, today’s tribes are fuzzier.

It seems there are less rigid labels which is interesting.

I think that’s prob a good thing.

The cliques were most clear cut in late middle school through prob 10th grade. Once kids hit 16 or 17 they mature a bit and there's a blurring of the social lines.

Cliques are actually trivial in middle school bc they just influence your social life, not your Socioeconomic life.

Worse still, the theory offers no empirical rigor or methodological grounding. It relies on vague generalities and anecdotal assertions, cloaked in quasi-academic language that lacks the precision and falsifiability required of serious theoretical frameworks. Rather than illuminating social dynamics, it reinforces the very insular, us-versus-them mentality it claims to explain. There is no predictive power, no testable hypotheses—just a deterministic worldview that encourages cynicism and disengagement. In short, Clique Theory is intellectual quicksand: seductive to the disillusioned, but utterly bankrupt as a tool for understanding or improving human society. It deserves not refinement, but wholesale rejection and mockery.
