At the same time, a lot of KR brainwashing involved taking kids to these old temples and telling them their ancestors were kings who possessed magic. They said the French had come and stolen the magic from all the people in Phnom Penh, and that's why their lives had no value anymore. If you needed a wristwatch or you had medicine you needed to take regularly, that meant you had no magic. If you needed a toilet full of water to take a shit into, there must be something wrong with you. If you know what a soccer ball is, and you're telling me I'm not supposed to touch it with my hands, you sound corrupted. |
