Every time I lurk r/fatFIRE I feel like I’m peeking into a parallel universe. Goddamn here I am reading about people spending wages per month I make per year
The “I’m only at 8 million net worth, should I be worried?” posts. The $60k/month “modest” budgets. People debating whether they should keep the fifth vacation home. They casually drop details about wine cellars, “hobby” ranches, maids, elite schools, or spending more in a year on travel than most people make in a decade.
What type of work does one have to do to retire early. What life trajectory always one to even have this type of life? I don’t even know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who has this type of life. Fuck.
