He’s been phoning it in forever, my own boss is fed up with him, and when they pulled him in for a talk he hit them with: “I’ve put in 30 years here, I don’t need to justify myself.” So I yanked his overload/OT because he’s not even handling the basics he’s actually vastly overpaid for, and now he’s emailing me: “I didn't manage things these way when I was in charge (he did)... I’m not going to allow this to continue” — as if he’s got any say in anything besides when he's going to finally retire. I don't want to be aggressive, but I think I need to be firmer.
