My ex and i ended up as addicts, after an accident and dental work, & i kept it together much better than he did, for much longer. He was much smarter on the streets, i could keep a job, that type of thing. We both would've been lost without the other, but that doesn't mean we didn't have some really awful fights or seething anger over what we thought was someone pulling less weight, etc. I never thought he was mentally messing with me, no gaslighting, no sick version of love, just a sick version of himself. We grew up together, i knew him before, so i knew his love was pure... That's what was so heartbreaking. I used to curse at God for giving me my soul mate at 14, just to turn us into junk bombs lol. A cheerleader with a comp sci degree & a 3-sport all state athlete honor roll kids that end up with huge records & health problems, all bc of perdue pharma...
