oh yes build in the US and then pay high tariffs to import components needed to manufacture
are u retarded?
and lol at rejoining at "shaving off coporate profits" --- some of these comps will just die

So let me get this straight, if you're an Global conglomerate you can choose to manufacture in the US and pay with 50% tariffs on the raw steel or aluminum, or you can choose to manufacture in EU with only 15% tariff to export to US?
This is somehow going to Make America Great? You've basically pushed out any incentive to build factories in the US

It's so easy! guys in my HS use to just open steel smelters to make more steel! it was NBD!
Domestic production covers ~75–80% of demand, but specific high-grade steel types (like for automotive and aerospace) often need to be imported.
U.S. primary aluminum production is low (~900,000 metric tons/year).
Due to high energy costs, many U.S. smelters have shut down.
The U.S. recycles large amounts of aluminum (secondary production).
The U.S. imports more than 75% of its primary aluminum needs.
Major suppliers: Canada (largest), UAE, Russia (though volumes have dropped), Bahrain.

Incorrect. You can already see the boom in manufacturing employment over the past six months. US companies are obviously getting ready to build capacity.
