Dad went on hospice last week.

Date: September 4th, 2025 6:42 PM Author: gibberish (?) Dr discontinued chemo a few months back and told my dad to pursue hospice services. He wouldn't do it. He can do whatever makes him comfortable my only request is that he not take a bullet (which is a definite possibility). So in a way this was good news but it hit pretty hard.
I've been trying to see him more. He even said last time that I was coming down too much and I should be doing work or taking my kids somewhere. He doesn't sound sad or anything. He still heads to the bar every night even if it's just a beer. Only thing he said that makes him sad is when we leave wondering if that's the last time he sees any of us.
It's been just over a year since we found out and they gave him 6 months at the time. Lol after we left the hospice meeting my grandmother asked how the Dr was and my dad said great I'm cured ...she really believed him for a second. Dad is only 65. |

My wife feels like it's our duty and needs to be an example to our kids. But my dad doesn't want to move from where he grew up. My sister is a nurse and at one point did hospice.
