I.e. fdic insured is 250k. If I keep a brokerage account, i.e. shares of qqq, that's another 250k insured. But once your brokerage/savings grows you rely on these banks not going bankrupt? I.e. if ally bank goes bankrupt bigger bank will just steal your accounts?

Securities are registered with a registered agent and your broker can't access their value and nothing will happen to them if the broker fails. The $250k refers only to straight cash, which you shouldn't be holding much of anyway

It's really unlikely for a bank to go bankrupt and not have their assets sold (your money) to a surviving bank.

But these kinds of issues are what a wealth manager does, way more than asset allocation.
