Most annoying thing about RIFs

The other thing is that many people assume that if only they did whatever (some stupid conference or managed some project better) that they would have survived the RIF. In most cases there's a cost savings target and they just go down an org chart. Sometimes entire groups get cut and the work gets sent to a BPO vendor in India.
