Height didn’t explode in Europe because of racial magic.

It happened because for the last 150 years, white women have been ruthlessly filtering out short men from the gene pool.

Let’s take the Dutch. poster boys for the "genetic peak" crowd. In 1850, they were shorter than average Europeans at an average height of 5'4."

Then came industrialization, urbanization, freedom from arranged marriages. Women got to choose. And guess what they chose?

Not the family-approved cousin. Not the rich troll with gout. They chose the tall, strong, symmetric dude who could reach the top shelf and didn't smell like a goat.

By 2020: Dutch men are the tallest in the world. Because tall men got laid more. Plain and simple. It's silly how now people are trying to dissect the Dutch lifestyle and diet to figure out what's their secret. Has nothing to do with riding bikes and eating a lot of cheese.

Societies that were more traditional where marriages were mainly arranged stayed shorter. The longer hypergamy was open, the taller the people. Look at the South Koreans, now that they tossed tradition only in the past 50 years, they gained the most height increases of any people anywhere in the world.

Funny how that all worked.
