The only reason humans evolved to walk upright is to make use of our opposable thumbs. In all other respects it's been a total catastrophe. It requires us to have narrow hips (enjoy childbirth, ladies!), and makes us slow, weak and unsteady compared to EVERY other animal. A truly robust robot would be more like a bear or spider. It would either have multiple legs and a set of "hands" like a spider, or it would walk on all fours but be capable of standing upright when needed, like a bear

yeah but everything about the current world is set up for humanoids
it's more practical for robots to be humanoid for a while at least
