I think you're in the wrong here. While I think the cops were overly aggressive at that point as he was basically laying on the ground trying to not get trampled by horses, there was a molotov cocktail or something thrown directly before he was taken down and it stands to reason that it was likely him. (I'm sure they confirmed whenever they opened his backpack).
I'm the person who thinks the ICE raids are pretty fucked up, but I think the way LAPD handled this event was actually pretty good. There was very little in the way of escalation, instead they basically cordoned off the worst of the protests (meaning violence/destruction) into small areas and then very slowly and deliberately closed in with minimal direct contact.
They shot off tons of non lethal rounds but that's par for the course. And given the number of people and the scale the damage really was fairly minimal. Lots of graffiti, some destroyed waymos and cop cars and that was about it.
Throughout LAPD said we aren't ICE, we don't care about people's immigration status and tongue in cheek said they didn't appreciate the way ICE went about it ("we received no advanced warning which was not typical for these type of events and resulted in delayed response times).
I'm not a fan of cops but LAPD handled it far better than the Floyd protests in other areas of the country.
