Date: August 8th, 2025 12:32 PM Author: lfo WARPLESS IS DEAD. First ever 18:4x and a FIVE SECOND WORLD RECORD jump. The last time a world record was beaten by 5+ seconds was in January 2013 when Warpless was in the 19:2x range.
I honestly have no words for this run other than this is arguably my most impressive and difficult world record I've ever achieved, maybe even exceeding my Any% WR of 4:54.565. This happened on only Day 7 of the grind, and although I always seem to surprise myself with how fast I achieve my goals, I fully expected achieving a time like this to likely take well over a month of consistent grinding. However, after having a massive consistency boost in World 2 and practicing a lot more from the start of World 3 onwards, this was achieved only third run past 3-1 FFPG.
Besides the early game FPG spam, the biggest timesave this new record saw were two never-before-seen FULL FPGs in 2-1 and 3-1. These FFPGs were first discovered by TASer HappyLee all the way back in 2009. Around 2021, 2-1 FFPG IL setups were discovered by me and Gaster319, while KingOfJonnyBoy and Gaster paved the way for run viable setups that were much easier. That same year, I also became the first person to ever get 3-1 FFPG RTA in an IL, but it wasn't run viable at all and was with a complete YOLO strategy. Then, in 2024, KingOfJonnyBoy found a huge breakthrough with a completely run viable setup that was never thought to be possible for 3-1 FFPG. Both of these FFPGs saved 4 framerules / 1.4 seconds each over my former record. Scalpel had great contributions to this late game route by initially theorizing it and finding a 4 shot kill strat in 6-4 that avoids lagframes. Averge11 also had a great contribution to this route, finding the BBG setup used in this run. Lastly, I rediscovered this late game route and realized that it aligned perfectly with all of the 18:49 tricks that I wanted to go for, and I found a lot of things along the way that made achieving this time much easier. From there, the rest was history. Without these many contributions from these individuals, this time likely never would've happened.
This run is the culmination of basically everything I've ever wanted in Warpless. On top of the fact that this record is going to be tremendously hard to beat, there is a decent chance this may just be my retiring point for this category. This run is so exceptional that I simply have very little point in returning unless it is beaten. However, I can't say that with 100% certainty, and who knows what the future may hold for this category.
