Canada is simply a more liberal country. Poilievre was up when the election was still further out in people's minds. I think Trudeau resigning and Carney becoming the PM signaled a shift that there was going to be an end to Trudeau's unpopular reign. It gave people more confidence in a Liberal government.
It's also simply demographics. Canada's interior is mostly unpopulated. The cities dominate the countryside. Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver are just way ahead in population. There are only 3 "red" states and they're smaller. So it was always going to go this way. Different country. Just like Europe there's no major conservative movement there.
The bigger question is why were people deluded into thinking conservatives had a chance.
