So "coding" is the only thing that "AI" can reliably do?

I broke the head off one of the brake caliper bolts on my kid's Mazda, and the Mazda dealer didn't have one. Faggot Gemini told me the Toyota caliper bolt is identical, so I bought one of those, but it's 3 millimeters longer, so screws all the way in until it hits the rotor. And of course Gemini just says they're identical because some Redditor once said they are.
Anyway, it's all fucking shit, and will never be used for actual engineering or anything involving financial transactions.

I'm not saying you "should" use it for anything. personally I find it most useful for exploring ideas, evaluating and improving argumentation, etc. I never use it to write anything because I hate the "AI voice" but I'll show it things I've written and ask it to find counterexamples and stuff like that. and I use it for general advice that doesn't require specialized knowledge - the kind of thing where a synthesis of what other people have written is actually exactly what I'm looking for.
when I use it for random questions that do involve specific knowledge - I call it a "better Google" - I ALWAYS check its work by clicking the sources it provides. I'm not sure if you've ever heard the term "hallucination" because it seems like your knowledge of AI is about where everyone else was in late 2022/early 2023, but it's a phenomenon that literally everyone else knows about where sometimes AI just completely imagines things. it just pulls facts out of thin air. however, all of the chatbots almost always provide sources, and when they don't, you can ask for them. sometimes it turns out that it parsed/interpreted a page wrong and gave incorrect info, but the correct answer is in a link it provides. so asking a chatbot is still better and faster than googling something, especially with how corrupt/P2P/gamed the Google rankings are now. its process for finding the info is way better than just clicking through the top Google results. can't speak to the other search engines; maybe there are some good indie ones that return better results. but you don't seem like the type to use a non-mainstream search engine.

Damn it's almost as if it compiled and presented the information available for your question but you still must verify it's accuracy.
In other news: Google is also flame because it directed me to some Reddit thread full of idiots!

I agreee with OP and if youre not siloing youre own data to make your own LLM/ML system to run exclusievely off what you feed it than its really gay
Having said that, Gemini is surprisiginly good at compiling and putting together Sod level analysis of Torah Aliyahs and their metaphysical and gematria breakdowns - most likely since the framework of an LLM is probably Talmudic in nature
