He really made a ceremony out of unboxing it and passing out controllers to each of them. It was like Christmas. Finally the youngest could not contain his excitement any longer, "What games did you get for us, Dad?!"
He winced, "There will be games soon, we just have to be patient."
The kids were disappointed by the wide gulf that had opened up between reality and expectations, but it was not new to them. This was not the first time. I quietly let myself out. |
