tbf, how does an insurer find "vet records" that you dont show them?
is there some national database of vet records?
one weird trick: cant op just get insurance now and keep quiet about any vet records in existence and let do

i couldn't spend that type of money on a dog in good conscious. my ex (a vet) and i got in a big fight over this. it seems extraordinarily selfish consider $5k could make a lot of other pets (and humans) lives much better.
with kids you could mentally frame it as paying for their happiness but if youre poor your money is better spent elsewhere imo.

I've noticed this.
I can't say I spent a ton of time browsing dog adoption ads years ago, but it can't always have been like this.
I look at what the nearest shelter has and the vast majority are shitpits and the remainder are kinda sad looking, not particularly cute dogs.
