No judgement thread: How much screen time do your kids get per day?

On weekends I am pretty bad and will sometimes let them have three or four hours if I want a nap or something. |

I will say a lot of screen time winds up with them playing with toys while tv is on as background noise. Not ideal but less awful.
Also, bears mentioning not all screen time is equal. Silly bullshit youtube stuff is kidcrack and behavior after any significant exposure becomes terrible. Watching numberblocks or storybots or magic school bus or even bluey us not nearly as bad.
A lot of parenting seems to be dopamine regulation. |

We also taught our kid addition and subtraction - she's 4 now and can add and subtract double digit numbers. She starts Kindergarten in a few months |

That aaid a good chunk of kids are totally screen dependent, unable to function. I have a nephew who seems this way. Has to be forced to do anything other than video games. If we r at a restauraunt, playing games. In the car, playing games. Etc. Then put on drugs cuz he cant "concentrate " its sad. Its a real problem for some. |

They are also all in GT or whatever and get excellent grades, somehow.
