Having a good night at $2/$5 hold 'em and I'm up $600. Effective stack $1,600
Baldbro to the left of me has been 3-betting my preflop raises all night, so I figure it's a matter of time before I catch him. He thinks I'm timid because I folded against his all-in earlier where I had 17 outs, but the pot odds were just slightly to his advantage
Juan in small blind, Baldbro is BB. Action folds to me, I see KTo and raise to $30. Baldbro raises to $100. I call
Flop is QJ9 rainbow. I have the nut straight. I check, Baldbro bets $175.
I make a show of hesitating and "reluctantly" call
Turn is a 4. I pretend to be timid again and bet only 25. Baldbro raises to $500. Gorgeous. I go all in. Baldbro snap calls. I turn over my KTo and Baldbro shows JJ. I have a 78% chance to win
River is another 4 giving him a full house. I exhale through my teeth.
Overall I think I played it very well. Stings a bit to lose 1.6k in a hand, but that's poker!
