Christianity made Secret Knowledge imminent. Jesus was both Ancestor and Secret Knowledge, i.e., he revealed Secret Knowledge in the crucifixion and resurrection. Ancestors became carriers of the accessible secret knowledge in early Christianity, and this was a positive development.
Prots get rid of the ancestor and focus on the Secret Knowledge (i think this is what you mean by Yahweh), which is just as bad as focusing on the ancestor alone. In that sense it is a return to primitive religion. |
