If you think about it in terms of common sense, traffic density should follow something like a literal exponential curve.
They built our current road system in the 1960s for a country of like 100 million people. Even in the 1990s, our population was like ~200 mil. We are over 340 now and probably will reach 400 within two decades or so. Same roads servicing the traffic, impossible to build any major new ones. So yeah, more congestion, more bad drivers, and habits worsen.
