This is an awful decision.
(i) They just did a movie with Harrison Ford - and the ending was atrocious.
(ii) That movie set up no prospects to step in (contrary to the last one where thehy sort of hinted at Shaia Labeouf
(iii) There's no movie stars right now that could step into the role. Chris Pratt is the obvious choice but he's over exposed
(iv) There hasn't been enough time for anyone to want a reboot of Indiana Jones. Seems like a pure cash play
(v) The last Indiana Jones movie lost money even though it had Harrison Ford....
This is truly Hollywood just being out of ideas

New plot revealed:
Dr. Indira Jones, a brilliant South Asian-American archaeologist, races against a rising authoritarian force bent on seizing ancient artifacts to rewrite history. With the help of a fearless Afro-Brazilian linguist and an Indigenous Egyptian preservationist, Indira journeys across continents to uncover the truth behind the Ark of the Covenant. Along the way, the team challenges long-held assumptions about ownership, legacy, and the rightful guardians of cultural treasures.
