Serious Q: How to discuss shitlib BS with kids at home?

I can't go full based on her becuase she'll either repeat it at school and get in trouble or she'll start to think I'm some horrible racist. I just told her with respect to the holocaust: "Yeah people may have died but that was a long time ago and has nothing to do with us here in America. Millions of people have died in Ukraine during the communist famine and millions of Chinese got killed by Mongolians but you never hear about it because we didn't do it, it doesn't affect us, and you shouldn't feel bad about it." For MLK I just said something along the lines of we should respect everyone as individual humans but sometimes people form groups and start wanting special treatment and we should be cautious of that. We shouldn't discriminate by law but we should also not grant special treatment either.
