Peck told FOX31 that last Friday, teams came in to Denver to try to find active skimmers using analytics to track down possible locations.
“Anything from grocery stores to international markets to convenience stores,” Peck said. “Specifically, we’re looking at locations that accept EBT and SNAP and other government benefit programs. And we resulted in finding 19 of them that were in place and actively stealing card information from unknowing victims.”
Aside from card readers at gas pumps, the team checked credit card machines inside stores and ATMs. |
