extremely impressive in the sense they really did adapt the majority of the pathfinder system (along with a few custom classes) into a crpg, to an even greater extent in the sequel. you really do get the experience of the insane flexibility / infinite builds that are possible

but the games are impossibly long and take way too fucking long to play, and i say this as a shutin dweeb with no family to spend my time on. it's like the target audience is specifically 24 year old grad student dorks who both have the attention span required for a full-blown pathfinder ruleset and 120+ free hours to do a playthrough

I'm considering playing through the sequel. I enjoyed playing through the first act years ago but could never muster the months long autistic commitment needed to finish. I think I can maek it now.

the only game of this type I've ever really enjoyed is dungeonslayers, the movement system during combat makes it much more entertaining and the rules are simple enough while still giving you tons of ability to customize and keep adding traits to your character
