It's a long term oriented decision right
In the long term it will be better to go by your own name. You gotta expect some short term pain because you lose the name recognition that you already had
Personally I always thought "Karlstack" was a hilarious name though because it didn't correspond to anything at all and we could just call you "Karl" even though that wasn't your name

here is the lore: my gamertag as a teenager was "drugdealerKarl" named after the character from Workaholics
so my close friends called me "ddk" or "karl" for like a decade, and then for years because that is what people called me I felt more comfortable identifying mainly as Karl and that is what I named my social media accounts as
but I quit gaming and nobody has called me that in years
