House seat - $5M - lots of randoms win these with not much funding. No independent authority so you can either put in your time climbing the party ranks (boring and shitty) or say crazy shit on Twitter and mostly be ignored by party leadership (a path also available without specifically buying a seat). But you’d get bids from people who don’t care about this amount of money and are obsessed with politics.

Senate seat - only a little better than House if you are straight up paying for it - maybe $7M.

Random governor - you have authority but over something that sucks and no one cares about. Day to day would be more fun (live in random place and decide stuff vs pointless DC meetings). $10M for bottom tier states, maybe a little better for middle of the pack.

Big governor - now we are talking big stuff - this would appeal to billionaires. $100M and sky is the limit if we get into a bidding war for NY or CA.

Supreme Court - would be tedious for nonlawyers, but we have lots of lawyers with money and seats are limited. Even if your views are uninformed or out of the mainstream, you get to be the swing vote on a regular basis. $25M.

Fed Chair - this is also a strong combo of authority, visibility, appeal to very rich NYers. $100M+

VP - trash, look at all the losers who have been handed this job. High bid is someone gambling on a presidential assassination or heart attack. So maybe 5% of POTUS price.

POTUS - easy billion, but Bloomberg might pay more.
